Please be aware that an alligator has taken up residence at Woodlake Villas, moving back and forth between the two larger lagoons in the center of the property. As much as you might want to approach or take photos of this creature, please don’t as they are very dangerous. They are quick both in the water and on land. Please keep children and pets away from the lagoons until the alligator has been removed. Be especially careful walking near the lagoons in the evening and early morning. DO NOT FEED OR HARASS THE ALLIGATOR IN ANY MANNER!!

Critter Management will be on the property Monday, 7/17/27, to attempt to remove the alligator. There will be an update once the animal has been removed. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Summer is here and the pool has been exceptionally busy with swimmers taking advantage of the nice clean, well-kept pool. It appears that a lot of the people swimming in the pool are not residents, yet they have access to the pool which tells us that residents are giving out their gate passes for friends and family to use. This has created the need for more required maintenance.  The pool is for Woodlake residents and their guests only.  There is a limit of two (2) guests per villa and guests must be accompanied by a resident at all times.  (For exceptions, please contact the on-site office.) All users must have an amenities pass.  Do not let others into the pool area as you are responsible for all guests and any damage they may cause.  Failure to abide by these restrictions may result in the suspension or loss of your amenities pass.

Due to the high number of residents enjoying the swimming pool this year, we will need to close the pool two (2) hours early every two weeks for maintenance. Starting Tuesday, July 11th, the swimming pool area will be closed every other Tuesday at 8:00 PM for the required maintenance and will re-open the following morning at the normal time. There will be a notice posted on both pool gates the morning the pool will be closed early. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

3- Pool-Fitness entrance

Woodlake Villas is proud of the many amenities made available to our residents.  We are particularly proud of having one of the cleanest, sparking clear pools on the Island.  Our Fitness Center is also kept cool, clean, and comfortable.  We want everyone to have fun; but we also want everyone to know that the pool and fitness center are safe, clean, and inviting.  To do this, we must ask everyone to please follow the simple rules that have been established:

Pool Rules:

  1. Please rinse off before entering the pool. Two rinsing stations/showers are available.  By rinsing off before entering the pool, excess lotions, sweat, hair spray, deodorants, etc. come off in the rinse, not in the pool.
  2. Please wear proper swimming attire. No street clothes are allowed in the pool.
  3. Please use the restroom before entering the pool. Parents should remind their children to take restroom breaks when needed.  Remember the old saying: “We don’t swim in your toilet, please don’t pee in our pool.”  J
  4. No children wearing diapers in pool unless wearing protective and sealed swim suits. While it may seem cute, no naked babies in the pool, please.
  5. No children under the age of 13 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Note:  Woodlake closely monitors our pool’s cleanliness.  When the above rules are not followed, we must close the pool and “shock” it with a chlorination treatment to restore the clean and sparkling water we all enjoy.   Each time we are forced to “shock” the pool, the pool must be closed and additional funds must be spent.  Help keep your pool open and clean and your monthly fees/rent down, by following the above rules.

Fitness Center:

  1. I Use of the Fitness Center is for Woodlake residents only; users must be at least fifteen (15) years of age. Children under the age of fifteen (15) are prohibited to be in the fitness center. All users must have an amenities pass. Do not let others into Fitness Center as YOU are responsible for any damage they cause and may lose your Fitness Center privileges.
  2. No food or drinks are permitted in the fitness center.

Both:

  1. Please do not let strangers into the pool or fitness area unless you are willing to be financially responsible for them.
  2. No chewing gum allowed in the pool or fitness center areas.
  3. Failure to follow the rules may cause fines and loss of amenities privileges.

Woodlake News, April 2017

Now that the weather is getting nice and the pool is open, please make sure you and your guests follow the pool rules. Pool hours are 8:00AM to 10:00PM. No lifeguard is provided. Use the pool area and swim at your own risk. Use of the pool is for Woodlake residents and their guest(s) only. Guests are limited to 4 (four) and must be accompanied by a resident at all times. Do not let others into the pool area as you are responsible for any damage they cause and you may lose you amenities pass privileges. Children thirteen (13) and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian eighteen years of age or older at all times. Proper swimsuit attire must be worn. No street clothes allowed. No children wearing diapers in pool unless wearing protective and sealed swim suits. (This is necessary to help ensure pool water cleanliness.) NO glass or other breakables, water balloons, boogie boards, body boards, pets, skateboard, rollerblades, bicycles, basketballs or soccer balls are allowed in the pool area at any time. No running, diving or horseplay allowed. No loud or obnoxious behavior. No loud music, please use headphones or keep the volume down. Please shower before using swimming pool. Do not sit or stand on the pool rope or floats. The rope is there for safety reasons and if someone breaks the rope the pool must be closed until it is fixed. No food or drinks are allowed in or near the swimming pool.  All DHEC (Department of Health and Environmental Control) and other rules and regulations as posted in the pool area must be strictly followed. Failure to follow these rules will result in the immediate loss of all amenity card privileges! These rules are in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of everyone. Remember, the Golden Rule applies. Please show common courtesy to your fellow residents at all times.

An area we are continuing to have a major problem with is at the garbage dumpster enclosures. There are garbage dumpster enclosures located throughout Woodlake and they are for household garbage only. No appliances, bedding, furniture, TV’s, etc. can be placed in or around these dumpsters. We pay an outside contractor almost every week to remove the unauthorized items. This is a cost that is passed on to All owners and renters. This is literally taking money out of your pockets. If you see anyone putting any unauthorized items in or around any dumpster please call the on-site office at 843 689-3366 and let us know who it was and what villa they came from or get the make, model, color and license plate number of the vehicle. Woodlake has also placed trash cans at all three mail box locations on the property. They are for paper trash only. Please do not put household garbage or pet waste in these trash cans.

We would like to thank everyone for all your help and cooperation with the above matters. We hope everyone has a lot of fun and a wonderful time enjoying all the amenities here at Woodlake Villas this summer and all year long.

Woodlake News, March 2017

Since Hurricane Matthew, Woodlake employees have been steadily working to clean up all the debris around Woodlake while continuing to do their regular maintenance jobs. This is an ongoing project that will continue for many months to come. There are still areas on the property that are in need of debris removal and we will get to them in a timely manner. If you see an area that should be addressed due to safety reasons, please contact the on-site office immediately. We also have had several residents who have been helping to remove some of the debris throughout the property and we thank you for your efforts. Should you decided to continue to help with the debris removal, please come to the on-site office and pick up lawn and leaf bags.  Putting the debris you rake or pick up in the lawn and leaf bags and placing the bags if front of your villa instead of putting them in a pile on the ground will make it much easier for the maintenance crew to remove. Again, we would like to thank everyone for all their help with the on-going Hurricane Matthew clean-up.

Now that the weather is nice people are going outside to their patio areas and cooking on their grill or just talking with friends and neighbors. When having any outdoor activity please remember that our Woodlake Rules and Regulations handbook states that; “no owner or tenant shall make or permit any noise that will disturb or annoy the occupants of any units in the complex, or do or permit anything to be done which will interfere with the rights, comfort or convenience of other Owners or Tenants”. Disturbances will be fined immediately. So, please be courteous to the tenants who live around you by keeping the noise to a minimum and ending all outdoor activity no later than 10:00 PM.

A Few Reminders

Here are a few reminders of Woodlake’s rules we all need to follow:

*When entering the property, wait for the drop down arm to come down to a complete stop before you swipe your card or use your click-to-enter.

*Do not drive or park on any landscaped areas.

*All vehicles and pets must be registered at the on-site office within (1) week of arrival.

*No loitering is permitted on property.

*All shopping carts must be returned immediately.

*There is NO assigned parking.

*Woodlake requires that we have a working key for each unit.

Thank you for your cooperation in following these rules and we look forward to a fabulous year at Woodlake Villas.

Woodlake News, Feb 2017

We would like to remind all residents that there is still a possible hidden danger of falling trees and limbs from damage sustained in the recent hurricane. We are diligently inspecting and identifying any issues, but as such, all residents should refrain from walking around and under trees without being extremely careful and observant. Do not try to remove any large tree limbs or hanging branches yourself. We are continually looking for hazardous trees or limbs and removing them as quickly as possible. If you know of any dangerous trees or limbs we need to check, please contact Steve Belton, the on-site superintendent, and he will deal with them as the situation dictates.

Over the last several weeks we have had a few issues at the entrance to Woodlake Villas concerning the key pad and barrier arm. One of the problems is with visitors/guest not being able to use the key pad phone system to dial villa numbers and another is when the barrier arm freezes up or just stops working. One of the reasons for both of these problems comes from people using their “click-to-enter” or swiping their card before the barrier arm has come to a complete stop, which only takes about 3 seconds after the car in front of you goes through the gate. Please be patient and wait for the car in front of you to clear the gate, it could prevent a lot of future problems for anyone coming through the gate later that night or early the next morning. If you or your guest do encounter any issues when entering the main gate, please call and let someone at the on-site office (843 689-3366) know what the problems were the following work day between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

As always, we would like to thank everyone for their help with the above matters and for all their help and cooperation throughout the entire year. We hope everyone has a safe and healthy 2017.
